Drivers who prefer to leave the decision to the vehicle can select Auto mode. Terrain Response 2 detects the surface it is on and selects the appropriate settings itself.

On badly rutted ground, the air suspension can raise the body a further 135 mm for up to 15 seconds when it detects wheel slip, helping the vehicle keep moving. That same lifting ability supports the Range Rover Sport’s 900 mm wading depth.
